Who can enroll?

Any certified teacher who works within Chicago city limits can enroll in the Teachers Resource Project - including public, private, charter, and university educators.

TRP is focused on making Chicago's educational system more equitable by giving students and teachers the resources they need to succeed. Unfortunately, day care centers and after school programs are not eligible to enroll at this time.

I'm on the waitlist, now what?

Hang tight! We're working very hard to promote the project and encourage people to donate. More donations coming in = more teachers who get free materials. You can help us spread the word by reaching out to friends in your network to let them know about this awesome opportunity.

Check our the “Free to Teachers” section at The WasteShed. These materials are ALWAYS free to teachers, so be sure to stop by and pick some up! The Free to Teachers section usually stocks binders, paper, and other commonly needed classroom supplies. If you’re looking for something in particular, we recommend calling first.

Can teachers donate materials to The WasteShed?

Of course! The WasteShed accepts material donations from the public six days a week. It's always a good idea to check whether or not we're accepting donations since our space is limited. You can see which items we most need and which we don't take on our donation page
